This 16-stall design includes a 100’x200′ indoor riding arena, lounge and viewing area, hay mezzanine, office, amenities such as feed, tack, tools, laundry and blanket room, and much more.
One of our goals with this concept design was to see the building come alive through natural light. And, as this plan evolved, it was essential that we kept to our core purpose of a seamless marriage between form and function.
Its often true that adding windows is the way to add natural light to a building, however, with this facility we wanted to take it a step further. Considering the sun path and weather conditions throughout the seasons in this location, we designed louvres over some of the windows, introduced translucent polycarbonate panels and integrated tension fabric to mitigate shadow lines. The use of translucent components gave opportunity to manipulate incoming natural light in this environment.
